Before web-class checklist
I will send Login links to your Gmail account 15 minutes before the events scheduled start time. There will be two links and you want to choose the presenter link.
If it’s possible to log in 10-15 minutes before start time (or as soon as your activities on the day allow) that would be really appreciated… just so we can eliminate technical gremlins etc. and make sure everything is working
Following is a number of steps that are desirable to do on the day of the web-class before logging on… These can best help set us up for success and facilitate a smooth web-class experience.
1) First, check your google chrome browser is up to date.
To do this … click on the three little dots in the top right-hand corner of the browser.
Then click help.
Then click “about chrome”
This will tell you if your browser is updated or give you instructions to update.
2) The next thing that can be beneficial to do is.
Clear history, cache, and cookies…
To do this once again click on the three little dots in the top right-hand corner.
Then click History
Then once again click history in the next menu that pops up
Then click clear browsing data.
Make sure 4 boxes are ticked
- Browsing history
- Download history
- Cached images and files
- Cookies and other site data
Then click “clear browsing data”
Once we have done this restart your computer open chrome back up and click on the presenters link in your email.
3) A couple of other things to take into consideration are (depending on your individual circumstances);
- Make sure you are plugged into the Ethernet.
- Make sure your computer is plugged into the wall.
- Close down all other apps on your device.
- Ensure others in your household are not using an excessive amount of internet bandwidth/power (for example video streaming). Ideally, and only if possible if we could ask others not to use the internet during the web-class that would be great.
- Turn your phone on silence.
- Have a bottle of water with you.
- Go to the bathroom.
- Make sure you are warm comfortable and the area you are in is well lit.
I hope all of this makes sense, if you have any questions about absolutely anything, please do not hesitate to ask and I can’t wait to go live!
Ryan ☺️
